Founder & Co-owner
I have been a life long resident of Vashon Island, having been born here in 1944. I graduated from Vashon Island High School in 1962 and from the University of Washington in 1971 after a four-year stint in the US Navy. I am definitely what you would call a Northwest product.
For the past 32 years I have been an Escrow Officer, the last 30 as the Designated Escrow Officer of Island Escrow Service. I opened up and began operating Island Escrow Service in January of 1979. Prior to that, I was a real estate broker on Vashon for seven years.
I like to spend my time away from work with home projects, gardening, golfing, and boating with my 17 year-old daughter and wife.
I moved to Vashon Island in 1974 and joined Island Escrow Service in 1986, managing the Contract Collections for seller-financed sales. At the same time, I handled the general bookkeeping. I gradually became an Escrow Assistant as well as continuing my bookkeeping duties.
When Island Escrow Service incorporated in 1995, I became vice-president. Having worked in the escrow business for over 22 years, I can honestly say I truly love this work. I am a very detailed oriented person, so one of the appealing aspects of this job is the fine attention to detail it requires.
Some of my outside interests include cheering my daughter on at swim meets, horse riding, playing with our two dogs, reading, listening to music, and watching movies with my husband.
